I am having problems getting my new Pro Tournament Scales and printer to work in the Tournament Keeper. What am I doing wrong?

I inadvertantly downloaded the trial version as an update for the latest patch and goofed up my desktop. So, do I have to re-register it?
NO, you should be OK. The 30-day "Try the Register" file is the full installation for the package. As long as you installed it over your existing system, then you will have applied any update. Also, your data will not be affected.

I try to back up my data files and the Backer program tells me not to run more than one copy of the program.
Go into the application installation directory, locate and delete the file called CFG.TPS. Problem solved!

After restoring my data files, I start the program and get an error saying my security file is corrupted. Now I cannot get into the program.
This is due to the fact that a date in an old security file is much smaller than what the system expected to see.
To get around the problem, do the following:

  • Use your File Explorer and locate the installation directory for your product (if you are not sure, look at the properties on the desktop icon)
  • Locate the file DSSW2.TPS in that directory
  • Delete the file
  • Start your program and re-register it using the codes that were provided when the program was purchased.
  • In the Report Designer, I tried to edit one of the provided templates, but receive a warning message that the master templates cannot be changed. How do I change a template for my own needs? That is true, you CANNOT change the provided master templates. But you can make a copy of it, then make your changes. Here's how:

  • Highlight the master report template that you want to change
  • Click on the copy button
  • Enter the new name of the report to be created
  • Enter the Report Designer by clicking on the Report Designer button
  • Make your changes and save the new template
  • Done! You now have a template that can be copied or modified any number of times.
  • I am getting a message that I need to register my Tournament Keeper. I am putting the info in and it keeps telling me it "failed try again;" can you give me some help ?

    Common mistakes while registering the product are:

  • Register to MUST be entered exactly as provided on your registration information form using upper and lower characters (case-sensitive)
  • Serial number is only 8-numbers
  • Set the Level radio button to “Standard”
  • Activation is all upper case and entered with dashes.
